HOW WE WORK
Mila Azania aims to offer a value proposition that provides access to skills, markets, and finance for black owned SMMEs in the Construction and Development Sector, through collaboration with strategic partners who provide a viable project pipeline. This enables access to high value supply and sub-contracting contracts and enables the Fund’s onboarded SMMEs to enhance their profiles, industry gradings and long-term sustainability, whilst offering them an opportunity to enjoy access to continued technical skills building.
With Business Development being core to the work of the entire leadership of the Fund we leverage our broad networks to constantly bring access to viable project pipelines. This, from the point of view of black businesses, plugs the existing gaps and challenges of market access and opens access to bigger and more long-term project pipelines. We actively contribute to broader impact in the sector’s value chain and to national key strategic imperatives, in several ways. Black subcontractors and suppliers who were previously unable to be integrated into the larger construction companies’ value chains, are now starting to participate more, through our interventions.
Being acutely aware of the challenges facing this sector and the significant potential it holds we have aligned our offerings, which combine business development processes as well as infrastructure and people designed interventions, in ways that assist in eradicating the many obstructions that the SMME sector has been faced with over decades. Our offerings are tailored to address these challenges in ways that can make a measurable difference towards the profile desired for this sector.
We apply a refreshing method towards funding in comparison to the more traditional avenues for financial and non-financial support. Although there are numerous entities playing a role in the value chain of SMME funding, or SMME training, etc, there is not an entity, at least to our knowledge, that integrates funding, with training and mentoring, and business development, and access to market, and compliance support, like SP Impact Fund. Our integrated support to SMMEs is our strongest competitive advantage and is what will offer the sustainability SMMEs so badly need for their success.
